Awake, for morning in the bowl of night has flung the stone that puts the stars to flight

And, lo, the hunter of the east has caught the sultan’s turret in a noose of light.

The end of cigarettes on Spain’s terrazas?

Green Galicia has become brown Castilla . . .

Today was the first day of our 2-week Fiesta de la Peregrina. Lots of activities in town. Including a bullfight (corrida) tonight. I walked past the town hall at midday, where there were quite a few folk listening to the opening address. Many were dressed in not-a-lot, while these folk dancers were encased in rather a lot.

I’ve always felt sorry for them in summer, as I believe their skirts are made of the heavy material possibly called serge(sarga).

The United States of Trump America

More evidence of a truly delusional mind:-

  • A lot of people are very angry at the Republicans. They’re not angry at me. They’re angry at Republicans
  • Some Republicans don’t share my share my view on windmills. It’s because they don’t understand business. [Says the man with a string of bankruptcies and failed ventures to his name. Not to mention the numerous scams like Trump university, the Trump watch and the Trump Bible. Surely a model businessman!]

Could this be happening to nicer guys (and gals)? Trump’s band of sycophants is squirming as he turns his fury on them. With each passing day, it is increasingly evident that Trump’s grip on reality is slipping in ways that threaten to engulf even some of the most trusted and loyal sycophants within his inner circle.

And the shoots of a ‘democratic resurgence’ might be appearing in the soil. Much helped by decisions from the courts, such as the latest one about the (illegal) ballroom. Judges Destroy Trump in Utter Ballroom Humiliation.

I’ve published the Kurt Andersen’s final pages as a separate post post, here.

I asked Perplexity to gave me examples of K charts. It asked me if I wanted charts relevant to economic performance or to some Korean pop group . . . The AI engine clearly doesn’t yet store enough about me yet.
