Pv city seems to have even more dogs than Caminoers these days. They come in all breeds and sizes, some of them smaller than cats. And too many of them with coats that are more appropriate for the Antarctic. Indeed, we even have some Huskies. I suspect it’s a consequence of fewer kids per family. All that affection has to go somewhere.

I helped another lost Caminoer today, from Kyev, saving her a 5km walk uphill in 30 degrees. She said I must be one of those mythical Camino angels. Which was nice of her. And true, of course. She was staying in a casa rural costing between 75 and 110 euros tonight . . . Which I only found out after I’d declined to take the 5 euros she’d offered me . . .

It must be early summer . . . Ana Obregón has appeared in the media, as she has done every one of the 26 years I’ve been here, albeit not in a bikini this year. But, then, she is 71. On her birth certificate, anyway.
