Awake, for morning in the bowl of night has flung the stone that puts
the stars to flight
.

And, lo, the hunter of the east has caught the sultan’s turret in a noose of light.

Spanish life is not always likeable but it is compellingly loveable – Christopher Howse: ‘A Pilgrim in Spain’.

Cosas de España/Galiza

It’s tough being a small or medium sized business in Spain. Possibly even harder being a sole trader (autónoma).

Wild horses return to Spain after 10,000 years.

Property price increases . . . Way above the inflation rate.

Free properties in lovely Asturias.

Europe

The latest updates from Naked Capitalism, here and here.

Trump has said the Hormuz Strait is now completely open. It might be true.

The United States of Trump USA

The MSM is finally coming clean on Trump. In case you haven’t seen it, here’s the New York Times on Trump’s mind. Very belated reporting on his insanity. . . . A deranged autocrat mad with power. 45% of US Americans say he is “mentally sharp and able to deal with challenges. Crudely, 150m folk.

The madness of Emperor Trump yesterday:-

  • I’m all about the Gospel. I’m about it as much as anyone can be. [‘This from a man who has never picked up a Bible without his name on it, to sell it to his idiotic supporters’].
  • I heard that the Epstein survivors – the victims or whatever – don’t want to speak under oath. [The opposite of the truth but a nice slur].
  • Gas prices are not as high as they were forecast to become. And the stock market is up. Everything’s good.
  • The Pope has said the Iranians can have nuclear weapons. [An outright lie].
  • We have a very good relationship with Iran right now. Thanks to the bombing and, even more so, to the blocking of the Hormuz Strait.

My experience of converts to Catholicism is that they can be ‘more Catholic than the Pope’. This seems not to be the case with Vance, who is said here to ‘lack a moral core’. . . For a man with a law degree from Yale, a widely acclaimed literary bestseller to his name and a meteoric ascent to the threshold of maximum political power, JD Vance has been saying some remarkably stupid things of late. . . . His sustained exercise in wanton fatuity warrants examination.
