The Middle East War

The Madness of the deluded Emperor Donald

  • The real terrorists are the environmentalists. They’ve destroyed our country.
  • Steve Witkof is a better negotiator than Henry Kissinger was.
  • We attacked Iran with the respect of the entire world.
  • I want my legacy to be that of a great peacemaker.
  • Don Junior, thanks to me, has the best genes in history.
  • Gavin Newscom can’t read, is very dumb and is loosing his looks. [Yet another confession]

Reality

As of yesterday

  • Trump faffs about extending his deadline for his strike threat
  • Current US military and energy materials shortfalls
  • More shortages expected within weeks
  • Iran allows transit of the trapped ships of friendly states

As of today . . .

Coming soon?

A former Trump Iran adviser says the war is headed for escalation. After accurately forecasting Iran’s response before U.S. strikes, a former White House Iran expert explains why there’s no clear off-ramp — and why escalation might be next.

So . . . You might want to get down on your knees and pray alongside Hegseth. Albeit for something different.

  1. An observation of Iranian vs. U.S. culture (from House of Sand and Fog) :

Americans they do not deserve what they have. They have the eyes of small children who are forever looking for the next source of distraction, entertainment, sweet taste in the mouth. We are not like them. We know rich opportunities when we see them and do not throw away God’s blessing.

I do not know Iranian culture. But, the observation regarding estadounidenses (in general although not all) appears perspicacious. What do you think?

    • Hi, Alex.

As I’ve said a couple of times I’ve a great admiration for the Iranian people and I weep for what their rulers have done to them over the decades. One day they will be the free people they deserve to be but this looks like being a long way off.

As for the USA,I agree with the observation.

I’ve just drafted this paragraph for today’s post:-

It is certainly arguable that the principle of ‘the rule of law’ entered Anglo politics in the 13th century, primarily through Magna Carta in 1215, which established that the king was subject to the “law of the land”. It is, of course, the very basis of numerous written and unwritten constitutions around the world. Astonishingly, as a would-be absolute ruler -unconstrained, thanks to the Supreme Court, by the issue of illegality – it’s a principle that Trump totally rejects. You’d have thought this would be a better reason to impeach him than his obvious mental defects.

I also plan to say something about the objects of worship in the US.

      Cheers.

      C.
