The Meidas Touch: Trump makes a shock admission as the war intensifies. And, instead of addressing the people, concentrates on fund-raising. As you’d expect, of course.
Longer term . . . Attorneys close to Trump are urging him to declare a national emergency that would allow him to take sweeping powers over the midterm elections. They’ve done this in In a 17-page draft of a presidential executive order that supposed Chinese interference in the 2020 presidential election which allows Trump to declare such an emergency. Of which no evidence has been adduced.
Something I’ve wondered about . . . A military coup in November??
Finally, my view is that the stupid killing of both the Iranian leader and schoolkids will reduce to nil the already minimal chances of a regime change.
The suggestion of the return of the Pahlavi dynasty to head up a democracy is beyond laughable to me. But, then, I do know something about Iran and the Iranians. Just another area of monumental ignorance for Trump.
This is simply madness. Trump’s keynote in everything, of course.

All this focus on Trump is a misreading of what has been happening. The US ‘deep state’ has had regime change in Iran on its agenda for decades and this also coincides with the policy of the ultra-Zionists in Israel and their supporters among the Evangelicals and the influential (largely Israel-supporting) ‘donor class’ in the USA. Trump is only an outlier in that he makes not the slightest pretence to comply with international law!
Trump’s responsibility extends only to the timing of this weekend’s assault, perhaps pushed by Netanyahu, or by the urgent need for distraction from the Epstein files, or by the desire for something that can be dressed up and presented to the people of the USA as an achievement of his presidency – or a combination of all of these.
