The Latest Minneapolis Murder

I asked Perplexity why a man with only a phone in his hand and who, after being pepper-strayed and pinned to the ground by 6 ICE agents, had at least 10 bullets fired into his prone body. This is the summary of the reply: Unless and until an outside investigation releases detailed findings, the question of why 10–12 rounds were fired—rather than one or two, or none at all while he was pinned—remains unanswered.

Defending this latest state-sanctioned murder in Minneapolis, the truly despicable Kristi Noem blatantly lied again, labelling the victim a ‘domestic terrorist’ out to kill ICE agents – a definition which seems to be astonishingly wide in what passes for democracy in Trump’s USA.

Can anyone be surprised that it won’t be the FBI investigating this killing but the DHS, the very organisation employing the ICE agents who carried out the summary execution of a man guilty of nothing but protesting their activities?

More ‘peace enforcers’ in the USA

It’s pointless to ask if the country has gone mad. it clearly has. The real question is: Can it recover from the insanity inflicted by a power-mad malignant narcissist taking advantage of what turns out to be a badly constructed Constitution. By coincidence, I watched an episode of The West Wing last night, first shown on US TV 20 years ago, in which a US Constitutional expert was warning Belarussians that a presidential system was inherently more prone to abuses of power than a parliamentary system of government. Don’t we know that now!

The other question needing an answer is: Is the US system capable of bringing Trump and his enforcers to justice? Not so far, of course. What we can be sure of is that he and they will be doing their utmost to prevent this. So, get ready for more things that you thought would never happen. Which will also serve, of course, to distract us from the issue of the Epstein files.

All of this is so incredible you wouldn’t believe it in a dystopian novel in which art was said to be imitating life.

Unless it was set in a totalitarian state run by a lunatic.

  1. I would like to dig a hole and put my head in it for a few days. Just to reset to be able to face whatever’s coming. This must be what many thinking Germans felt back in the 1930’s.
