A very happy Xmas Day to all those for whom it’s important.
As it’s the (alleged) birthday of someone who walked on water, came a cropper, was executed and rose from the dead, I thought I’d share with you 3 articles read yesterday on a modern man going through a similar process. Some have regarded him as a god but the jury’s out on the resurrection element:-
1. From religious veneration to bankruptcy
2. Was 2022 the year the Musk myth died?
3. Is Elon Musk going to turn into the same sort of joke that Trump has become?
A bit of a downer first thing . . . A woman was fatally shot and several others injured last night in a pub on the stamping ground of my youth. To be specific, in the Lighthouse pub in Wallasey Village, which all the UK media describe as ‘a place near Liverpool’. In fact, it’s on the other side of the river Mersey. Though, in truth, closer to the city’s centre than most of it suburbs.
To lift the mood . . An article on the vicissitudes of parcel delivery from the estimable Diane Morgan
Finally . . . An account of something that hapened in Galicia a few years ago, only a few metres from the first house I made an offer for in 2000. Whereupon the seller raised his asking price. My introduction to how strange things could be in Spain/Galicia.
