Awake, for morning in the bowl of night has flung the stone that puts
the stars to flight.
And, lo, the hunter of the east has caught the sultan’s turret in a noose of light.

Spanish life is not always likeable but it is compellingly loveable – Christopher Howse: ‘A Pilgrim in Spain’.

Talking of properties . . . . I think I’ve mentioned this luxury spa-hotel built without a licence 20 years ago and allegedly financed by a narco:-

Its demolition appears to be getting closer but the judicial process is not yet over. So, who knows? I’m guessing the hotel has the best lawyers available.
Are Caminoers feeding these pests, giving us another reason to dislike them?
I’ve read of fights between youths in Pv city – something unheard of until a few year ago – but I actually saw one right in front of me last night, at 7 in the evening – between 2 youths who looked to be South American or Moroccan. It was stopped by passers-by and the chief pugilist ran off at speed. But, as he was the only teenager in the city in a white, not black, T-shirt, the police possibly didn’t have much difficulty tracking him down.
My Ferrol friend Richard says that he’s he’s not terribly surprised about accidents on zebra crossings, given the way folk walk onto them without looking to their left. He thinks there should be advice to do so painted on the road, as in some cities around the world.

Finally . . . You Have to Laugh
Per Jonathan Swift in 1733
The vermin only tease and pinch
Their foes superior by an inch.
So, naturalists observe, a flea
Hath smaller fleas that on him prey,
And these have smaller yet to bite ’em,
And so proceed ad infinitum.
Per Augustus De Morgan, 1882
Great fleas have little fleas upon their backs to bite ’em,
And little fleas have lesser fleas, and so ad infinitum.
And the great fleas themselves, in turn, have greater fleas to go on;
While these again have greater still, and greater still, and so on.
