The Middle East War

More madness

  • Trump issues a 48-hour breathtakingly unhinged ultimatum to Iran.
  • Iran vows mass destruction via counter-measures
  • Israel takes a hit to the Dimona area
  • Other blows after 2nd firing on a Iran nuclear reactor site.
  • More warnings of deep damage from Hormuz Strait closure.
  • LNG reduction efforts
  • The vulnerability of the world to an oil shock is greater than that of 1973.

Watch the Daniel Davis video in that post.

How Iran could cripple the Gulf : Tit-for-tat strikes on region’s oil factories and water plants could cause a global energy crisis.

Hopes for a rapid end to the war in the Gulf receded on Sunday as Washington and Tehran traded threats to intensify bombing against civilian targets, including power stations, water plants and other critical services.

The IEA chief: “The global energy crisis caused by the war is equivalent to the combined force of the twin oil shocks of the 1970s and the fallout from Russia’s invasion of Ukraine”.

Major questions

  • Will Trump one day surprise us by doing something sensible and well-thought-out? The indications aren’t exactly promising.
  • Meanwhile, how can the maniac be stopped?
