The delusional, bellicose president: 6 March 2026

Trump’s war/special operation.

Perfidious duplicity: The 8 lies Trump told to take America to war.

Listening to Hegseth boasting about – nay, revelling in – ‘death and destruction’, you can begin to understand how the American administration of the 19th century aimed to totally wipe out the native Americans who were not threatening them but merely getting in their way.

An interesting thesis – Actually, a religious war??

Quotes

  • Trump: I will need to approve Iran’s new leader.
  • Hegseth: We will control Iran. We will take all the time we need to succeed with our objectives.
  • Nicole Wallace: What ‘success’ looks like is a question which the administration, including Mr Hegseth, has either failed or refused publicly to define for the country.

This is a comment with which I agree totally, especially the reference to the response of the Iranians: The one thing you need to do when you’re contemplating using the military to turn policy into violence is that you need to understand the nature of what you’re entering upon, the nature of the conflict. We do not. Every statement from Rubio, Hegseth and Trump has indicated they don’t understand this. The leading factor is that we’re taking on a people who are 3,000 years old, 90 million strong, 53% Persian who will seal themselves into their very doom in order to give us a truly vicious headache. And that’s what they’re embarked on. And they’re not going to stop until the last one of them is dead.

And one or more of them will surely keep trying to assassinate Trump. And probably also the jumped-up Fox News reporter Pete Hegseth. In short, Iranians will be fighting and killing Americans on US soil for a long time to come. Or I’m a Dutch uncle . . .
