With everything he’s got on his plate – including hassle both from the opposition parties and his small coalition partners – I don’t suppose the PM welcomed being told by Brussels to do more about corruption in Spain.

Nor will he welcome this sobering prediction of a new housing bubble in Madrid and Barcelona.

Nor the OECD instruction/advice that he delay the retirement age to compensate for the loss of workers.

I know from Spanish friends that it’s tough being self-employed in Spain, so it’s not surprising to read this account of how difficult it is for foreigners.

Hallelujha, there is a god! The best news in years is that the test centre I also pass 4 times a day is to be moved to a place 16km out of the city, taking with it all the learner drivers who blight my life! But I’ve no idea when and wouldn’t believe any official date.

Other good news . . . The Franco family have agreed to abide by the ruling of the Supreme Court that they must return the statues from the entrance to the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. So, I guess they won’t be taking the issue to some higher international court.

That J Lo concert . . I’ve mentioned mixed reviews, though a chap who paid €2,000 to meet her seemed very happy with his ‘dream of a lifetime’ – outlay. At the end of this post, though, is a longish comment from someone not so happy with J Lo, for one reason and another.

A REVIEW OF THE J LO CONCERT

Ni anillo, ni sortija… ni fuego

Fuimos a ver a Jennifer Lopez anoche en Pontevedra con todas las ganas.
Un show anunciado como el recuerdo de sus grandes éxitos.
Y sí, hubo momentos potentes, visualmente muy bien montados, un cuerpo de baile brutal, músicos increíbles, ella guapísima, con 55 años y moviéndose como si el tiempo no fuera con ella.
Pero… algo no cuajó.

El sonido, flojo. Muy por debajo de lo que uno espera en un show de este calibre.
No sé si fue culpa de la empresa local, de las subcontratas o de una mala planificación, pero el caso es que sonaba pequeño.
Y eso, en Galicia, donde estamos acostumbrados a que cualquier orquesta te vibre en el pecho… se nota.

Y luego, el detalle que más me chocó: hablaba muchísimo… pero todo en inglés.
Y oye, que aquí en Galicia no somos tontos, pero tampoco estamos para discursos en otro idioma cuando vienes a cantar tus temas en español.
Soltó una frase en castellano, y el público estalló.
Pero ella no recogió eso.
Siguió con su guion.
Y ahí es donde la gente empieza a desconectarse emocionalmente.

Y El anillo pa’ cuándo… directamente no sonó.
Una canción que lleva años reventando discotecas, fiestas, verbenas… y que muchos pensábamos que sería uno de los momentos álgidos del show.
Pero no.
La gente salió diciendo: ¿Ni anillo ni sortija ni hostias?

Y es que cuando vendes un espectáculo como homenaje a tus grandes éxitos, el público espera emoción, fiesta, conexión.
Anoche faltó eso.

Ahora bien. También quiero decir esto: Jennifer se entregó físicamente. Estaba radiante, se notaba que hay muchas horas de ensayo detrás. No es fácil hacer lo que hace con 55 años, con esa energía y esa presencia.
Y aunque para muchos el show quedó frío, yo no creo que sea una artista acabada.
Lo que sí creo es que estuvo mal asesorada. O quizás, simplemente, eligió una narrativa más personal, menos comercial, más centrada en lo que ella quiere contar ahora.
Y eso es legítimo.
Pero entonces no lo vendas como una fiesta de tus grandes éxitos.

Además… hay algo más profundo.
Todo este hate que está recibiendo en redes no es casual.
Hay mucho de misoginia ahí.
Porque si fuera un hombre de 55 años haciendo lo mismo, muchos estarían diciendo: qué tío, qué forma física, qué carrera, qué nivel…
Pero al ser mujer, y encima guapa, latina, empresaria, artista y con carácter… la vara de medir es mucho más dura.

Y eso no es justo.
Yo no creo que Jennifer fracasara anoche.
Creo que simplemente vino con otra idea de show, y no encajó con lo que esperaba el público gallego.
Porque aquí, cuando das alma, el público se te da entero.
Pero si te subes al escenario como una estrella lejana, perfecta y blindada… eso también se nota.
